The Society was formed to fulfill a perceived need to help recognize and reward service management professionals for their work experiences and education history through the attainment of one or more qualifications.  We at the Society believe that professional qualifications define a profession and that each professional has a right for a voice in the specification and direction of the qualifications.

We also believe that progressive and continuous recognition an development of a career requires the body of knowledge it requires and uses to be codified and form the basis for the qualifications.

In the end it is the responsibility of each individual professional to ensure the qualifications and body of knowledge are relevant to their career aspirations and for the Society to give them a voice, and to listen.
