Volunteer

With rising economic pressures and increasing demands on our time from work and family, one can often feel as though they are being "stretched too thin". Yet, many manage to find the time to volunteer to forward the objectives of causes and organizations they believe in. We hope that our cause and organization is a fit with your interests.

The SM-S is an organization where all of the important elements that make us special are run by its Associates and there is no "right way" to contribute your time and experience. Whether you spend it moderating or responding to posts on discussion forums, answering support questions or serving as a member of a committee, the SM-S can use your help. When done correctly, this isn't a one way proposition. You should be able to get just as much value back from as you put into your volunteer efforts.

This is especially important for those who may feel that they don't have enough experience, but really want to be involved. In this situation, the SM-S encourages you to "get into the game". After all, if you never start, you'll never get into the game. For those who have significant skills, volunteering can take on a whole new dimension and you can have the chance to shape the future of SM-S and its activities. In addition, you may find that there's a whole level of satisfaction that isn't ordinarily available.
