Certified Service Management Professional (CSMP)

The Certified Service Management Professional (CSMP) is a role based credential achieved by passing the CSMP Examination, entry to which is by meeting minimum criteria of a combination of work experience and education history.
The CSMP is the most senior service provider side role, and applicable to professionals irrespective of employment status. The qualification carries with it an implied understanding of the operational and management perspectives of an entire service management system and supporting service organization.
Service Management Role
The role leads and directs the design, development and implementation of a service management system and supporting service provider organization. The CSMP also oversees the service organizational aspects that include operational governance, practices, policies, procedures and artifacts styled and aligned to the meet the needs of customer communities served by the system.
The primary reference for this role is the Guide to the Universal Service Management Body of Knowledge (USMBOK) publication. Associates receive a significant discount to use at specific online stores. The USMBOK details the service management system and the roles involved in a service organization spanning the entire customer and technology continuum.
Eligibility Requirements
High school diploma (or global equivalent), plus 5 years service management experience, plus 35 hours of universal service management education from an accredited education provider, OR
Bachelor's degree (or global equivalent), plus 3 years service management experience, and 35 hours of universal service management education from an accredited education provider.
Steps to Obtaining Credential
Complete the application process and meet the eligibility criteria by attending suitable education delivered by an accredited education provider.
Exam Information
4 hours; 200 questions, multiple choice.

Credential Maintenance Cycle and Requirements
This credential is subject to all the terms and conditions of the Society's Continuing Certification Requirements program, consisting of a 3 year renewal cycle, and during that period the aggregation and proof of attaining 60 professional development units.
